Bleach Chapter 485 - ★★★★★★★★★★ (10/10)

• Thoughts:

If we go by the sheer amount of plot details, twists, and turns all packed into the one chapter, then Bleach chapter 485 is one of the best chapters in the past few years, for many reasons that made this chapter stand out in such a way that many Bleach chapters do not:

• Chojiro Sasakibe: the vice captain of the first division - died. People say good guys never die in Bleach, well, here’s the first ever Captain/Vice Captain death in the series (not counting Tousen or Gin). The fact that Kubo killed off a high up member of the Gotei 13 was brave, but it’s made this a lot more serious than what almost any other arc started off as, because characters will die now.
• Neliel and Harribel’s return: Both among my favourite of the Arrancars, and seeing them return made my day. Both of them have been off our screens for years.
• Hueco Mundo: is already lost. The villains (who are certainly not Arrancars by the looks of it, as they can produce and/or recruit them) already took the palace and have now kidnapped Harribel. I’m looking forward to seeing where her fraccion are and what her role will be later on.
• The New Antagonist: is brutal as hell. He killed two of his own men, one of them being Ivan. The fact that he does that really does show his strength and potential when it comes to reproducing his soldiers.

Everything about this chapter was great, and it also had a few pages of nice comedy and character interactions. Great chapter, 10/10, best chapter I’d say in years. Kubo managed so much with this one, every page was entertaining and is reaching new levels, if he keeps this up then the final arc will certainly be massive!
